          04Methodology

          How we verify.

European companies that Dealroom publicly lists as having reached a $1bn+ valuation or exit. This is an all-time outcome universe, not a current-private-only list.

Dealroom reports 726 European valuation outcomes, while its public Europe payload exposes 694 names. The remaining 32 names require licensed or individually sourced enrichment.

Snapshot dated 2026-08-29. This is a living, source-reviewed index.

          Definition
Companies with European roots that have reached a $1bn valuation or exit. Records with public, listed or acquisition language in their status are labelled as historical outcomes rather than removed.
          Valuation is a dated datapoint
A valuation is only true on the day it was disclosed. Every figure here carries its own date, currency and source, and nothing is converted into a common currency.
          Founder blanks
133 of 694 records carry publicly disclosed founders. Where a founder is not publicly shown, the record reads “Founder record being verified”. No name is inferred.
          Triangulation
4 records have been refreshed against recent external reporting and carry a “Triangulated” marker. Everything else is baseline public data.

          Notes on the source data

          • Dealroom provides the roster, structured company fields, and many public founder profiles.

          • Scaling Europe dispatches are used to refresh selected recent valuation signals.

          • No blank founder field was guessed; use founder_verification to decide what can be published.

          • For a public live dashboard, verify valuation and ownership status at the company/round level before treating it as current.
